Home > Afghanistan > VT Fourth Graders Raise Money to Help Women & Children in Afghanistan

Founders Memorial School, in Essex Junction Vermont, raised over $350 this spring by running a “school store” and chose to donate it to Empowerment Health. A globally-minded class, they have previously donated to charities both home and abroad, helping Vermont’s homeless as well as orphans in rural China. This spring, the lucky recipient of their efforts was EH and the Afghan women and children we serve. The pens and erasers, sold one quarter at a time, will be transformed into penicillin and education through our network of community health workers. From everyone at EH, thank you 4th graders, for your hard work and generous hearts!
